GMB, the union for Asda workers has hailed a ‘massive victory’ as the Supreme Court ruled in favour of 40,000 workers today.
The ruling means shop floor staff at Asda can be compared to workers in the distribution centre for the purposes of their equal pay claim.
GMB has now called on Asda bosses to meet with them and discuss the next stage of the shop workers’ compensation claim, which could run to £500 million.
Thursday 1st April at 7PM, GMB Midland & East Coast are hosting an online discussion (on Zoom and Facebook) on the importance of the local elections for GMB members.
This will be a great opportunity to hear from GMB campaigners about why May’s elections matter to trade unionists. We’ll be joined by striking British Gas workers, Lord Vernon Coaker and others. We’ll also be showing attendees how to use the Party’s Dialogue system, allowing you to campaign from the comfort of your own home.
