Today's decision by the Department for Work and Pensions not to compensate WASPI women is nothing short of a national disgrace, a callous abandonment of 3.6 million women who have been systematically failed by their own government.

AN UPDATE FROM THE WASPI TEAM: The WASPI team were overwhelmed with cross-party support at our MP drop-in on Tuesday. We are delighted that around 100 MPs joined us to catch up with our regional WASPI campaigners who came from as far as Devon and Dundee. An update from WASPI: At this time of year, we would usually be attending party conferences. This year however, with all the political distractions we decided to prioritise the work on the Judicial Review and arrange our own MPs drop in in Westminster where we hope they won’t be distracted, and we can speak to them individually. That will happen in Westminster on 21st October. Your MP will have received an email, so please contact them and encourage them to attend on your behalf.
Parliament is in recess for the Summer. All our MPs are back in their constituencies and it’s a great opportunity to get an appointment with them in their local surgeries and ask them what they will do for WASPI. You can find out who your MP is and how to contact them here Find Your MP Here is an update from WASPI provided by our equalities officer Pat: The Government has now sent our lawyers its Acknowledgement of Service and Summary Grounds of Resistance documents – in other words, its first line of defence. Helpfully, it has agreed to our request to both being published, which we said was important given the very high public interest in our case.
Here are the Summary Grounds of Resistance and the Acknowledgement of Service documents for you to read for yourself alongside our Grounds of Claim to which they respond. |
