The June Email Newsletter was sent out on Sunday 22nd June to 1,758 members (June members list) and has been opened by 772 members, a 44% opening rate

Equality Officers Report
Congress had taken up much of Pat’s time, so not a great to report beyond Congress business.
 
Accompanying Reps Report (ARs)
Secretary reported that he had been extremely busy with both physical and Teams meetings and some good success stories on representations.
 
Workplace Report

• Neil reported on his visit to Congress.
• Video with Secretary and Equalities Officer, now edited and ready for socials, after approval.
• Fringe meetings at Congress, very interesting!
• Neil now a delegate on the National Lifelong Learning committee.
• Recruitment video – update.
• Courses attended.
• Attended TUC webinar, Fighting for every breath.
• Workwise, not that busy.
• Update on stores issues and health and safety.
• No grievances to report.
• Adrian advised on uploading videos.
• Abi asked about a TikTok account.  Or can we create one?  Adrian reported on what we currently have regarding our socials.
• Abi made some excellent suggestions about our social media journey. 

 
Any Other Business

• Secretary asked about supporting Gordon’s work regarding ‘Reading’.  Gordon to speak with the organisation who provide the voluntary service and ask them to contact the Secretary.   Report to next meeting.
• Neil, possible QR access to branch.
• It was agreed that we need to see where we are going with current new initiatives and evaluate progress.
• Pat thanked the branch for sending her to Congress.  Pat seconded the motion on RMA and the vote was won.  She reported on many of the issues, motions and debates.
• Jackie raised the concern that many of the members who attend branch meetings are aware of, which is the lack of numbers coming to the branch meetings.  This seems a perennial problem that we need to focus on going forward.  Concerns were specifically addressed in relation to workplace reps in receipt of honorariums but who do not respond to emails and do not attend meetings.  This is a real concern to the branch that needs addressing.
• Secretary advised that Ross will be going through his Reps training in the coming weeks.
