Here is an update from WASPI provided by our equalities officer Pat:

The Government has now sent our lawyers its Acknowledgement of Service and Summary Grounds of Resistance documents – in other words, its first line of defence. Helpfully, it has agreed to our request to both being published, which we said was important given the very high public interest in our case.
Here are the Summary Grounds of Resistance and the Acknowledgement of Service documents for you to read for yourself alongside our Grounds of Claim to which they respond.

​Our legal team are analysing what has been said and will prepare a detailed reply which we will publish in the next few days. The headlines are pretty much what we predicted. The gist is, "We are the Government, it’s for us to decide what to do about the Ombudsman’s report, we have been rational, so there’s nothing to see here, Judge, and don’t make a cost capping order as that’s unfair".

We are confident all their points can be answered, and our case will get permission to proceed to a full judicial review hearing.
