Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) takes place each year on 27 January.
There are a number of events that are marking Holocaust Memorial Day 2020 in Northamptonshire. Here is information and links for some of them:
Union branch meetings of the GMB Northants Community Branch take place on the last Wednesday of each month (except August & December) at 7pm to 8pm at the Ex-Servicemen's Club, Lloyds Road, Corby NN17 1AP

Holocaust Memorial Day is on Saturday the 27th January each year. It is the day for everyone to remember the millions of people murdered in the Holocaust, under Nazi Persecution, and in the genocides which followed in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur and is promoted by Holocaust Memorial Day Trust
Below are some events happening in Northants to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 2019
Save Northants Services has called for a protest from 4.30 at the emergency county council meeting being held next Wednesday 1st August at 5.30. This emergency meeting has been called to agree another £60 to £70 million of further cuts to services this year. This is really serious stuff as statutory services will now be cut to the bone and non-statutory services will decimated.

GMB has welcomed the support of Jeremy Corbyn after the Labour savaged the Prime Minister over the financial collapse of Northamptonshire County Council (NCC).
You may be aware that the GMB Union have been campaigning since March 2017 to raise awareness of the mismanagement of finances at Northamptonshire County Council. On Friday 2nd February 2018, Northamptonshire County Council issued a section 114 notice imposing financial controls and banning expenditure on all services except for its statutory obligations to safeguard vulnerable people. It is understood Northamptonshire is the first local authority to issue a section 114 notice for two decades.

It has been widely reported that Northamptonshire County Council in Northants are fast approaching insolvency. The council have mismanaged their finances and are now failing to deliver the level of service that our community expect and rely on. Find out more on this GMB Union Website
