Northamptonshire County Council has been in the news almost every day in February as the incompetent Tory run authority's mis-management, exasperated by the savage cuts imposed by their chums in Westminster forces officers to issue a Section 114 notice. The first meeting for 2018 of GMB Northants Community Branch took place on Wednesday the 31st January 2018 in Corby
Below are the summary minutes for the meeting and you can download a PDF copy of the minutes here  You may be aware that the GMB Union have been campaigning since March 2017 to raise awareness of the mismanagement of finances at Northamptonshire County Council. On Friday 2nd February 2018, Northamptonshire County Council issued a section 114 notice imposing financial controls and banning expenditure on all services except for its statutory obligations to safeguard vulnerable people. It is understood Northamptonshire is the first local authority to issue a section 114 notice for two decades.
