The Bill is a huge first step in delivering the New Deal for Working People, and GMB are now involved with consultations and the Parliamentary process to ensure we’re doing the work to get the details of the legislation right.

GMB membership Contribution Increase

Congress 2024 agreed an increase of 7p per week on Grade 1 and 2p a week on Grade 2 contribution rates

Full details of contribution increases are here

These increases take effect from 1 October 2024 and will be shown in Rule 45 of the updated Rule Book which should be available on the National website

Wilko One Year On

This week marks one year on from Wilko’s collapse into administration.

GMB Demo at ASDA Bournemouth 2024

On Wednesday the 12th June 2024 at GMB Union Congress, branch members joined the march and demo at ASDA in Bournemouth to protest against the asset stripping of the company by the owners and significant reduction in hours for workers.

Corby Workers Memorial Day Event 2024

GMB Northants Community Branch were pleased to again host a Workers Memorial Day event on Saturday the 27th April 2024 at 11am beside the Steel Workers Statue at James Ashworth VC Square in Corby to mark Workers Memorial Day 2024.

The event was presented by Alan Irwin, Branch Secretary of GMB Northants, with speakers: Rachelle Wilkins, Senior Regional Organiser of the GMB Midlands, Lee Baron, Prospective Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate for Corby and East Northants and Alan Davis, National Officer Community Union.

Branch Meeting Attendance

We are very keen to encourage branch members to attend our branch meetings, which are held on the last Thursday of the month. The meetings are informal and held online using the Zoom platform, we are a branch of 2,500 plus members and generally only see up to 10 members attend our meetings.
