Branch Communications - Covid-19

The branch has been considering ways to maintain communication in light of the current situation with Coronavirus

Below you will find our latest update:

We will continue to send out a monthly email from the branch to branch members. If you are not receiving this email, you can sign up here
We have set up a WhatsApp Group for the Branch, which we are testing, before a full roll-out to branch members
We have tried a number of different Video Conferencing Services and hope to make a decision soon, with a view to hosting the April Branch meeting as a video conference.
We will continue to use social media - Twitter & Facebook
Finally we will continue to add the latest news to this website

CORONAVIRUS: Government advice is now that all non-essential contact should be limited.

GMB advice is that branch meetings should be cancelled, we have therefore cancelled the March and April Meetings and will review future meetings.

We have also cancelled the 2020 Workers Memorial Day Commemoration event in Corby on Saturday 25th April 2020

We are investigating the use of a Whatsapp Group to conduct branch business and will advise members soon

Personal Injury Payments

An important function of the union is to support its members if the suffer a personal injury at work. GMB works with Unionline on legal matters.

In January and February 2020, the GMB had personal injury payments to members in the Midland and East Coast Region of £875,000, which included payments of £11,877 for Northants branch members
