On Wednesday, 19 January the Prime Minister announced that the Government was ending England’s ‘Plan B’ measures. This included the lifting of the recommendation that face coverings be worn in secondary classrooms from Thursday, 20 January, and the rules requiring face coverings in communal areas in all schools from Thursday, 27 January. A locally made film about PLUTO, the film tells the story of this historic project, using a mixture of current and archive footage and was written and produced by young volunteers through the guidance of media professionals Judy Caine and Paul Balmer at HD Media CIC.
OPERATION PLUTO -The Corby steel works and those that worked there made a notable contribution to the World War II effort by manufacturing the steel tubes used in Operation Pluto (Pipe Line Under the Ocean) to supply fuel to Allied forces on the European continent.
