Course Title: Health & Safety Refresher

This course gives GMB Safety Reps the opportunity to further develop existing skills and knowledge. Focussing on current workplace safety issues, it looks at how we employ a trade union organising approach in order to tackle these effectively. We also take a look at the importance of workplace inspections and revisit our safety reps rights as outlined in the Safety Representative and Safety Committee Regulations 1977.

This Basic IT Skills for Trade Unionists course is perfect for those who have little or no experience of using computers, but want to learn how to in a relaxed, friendly way.
It's being run face to face at East Riding College in Hull, or online at the same time - depending on your availability/location.

GMB Midland & East Coast Women's Conference 2021, is on Tuesday 19th October at 10AM
This is your opportunity to join other GMB members from across the Midland and East Coast region to discuss the issues facing women at work.
The primary focus for this years conference will be on the Menopause and the event will be hosted online.
Two of our guest speakers will be representatives from Newson Health – a clinic which specialises in menopause , you may have seen the lead GP Dr Louise Newson speak on Lorraine and in the recent Chanel 4 programme hosted by Davina Mc Call Sex, Myths, and Menopause.( to name but a few programmes)
Menopause will effect all assigned female at birth, so together lets 'smash the stigma!'.
We also want to hear from as many GMB women as possible on the lead up to the event.

This course focuses on why it is important to raise awareness of mental health issues and how people with mental health issues are discriminated against. It will also cover aspects of disability discrimination Law and the role that GMB Workplace Representatives can play in building a supportive workplace.
