 GMB Midlands would like to invite black members from across the Midlands region to our their regional meeting, which will be hosted through Microsoft Teams on Monday 8th December 2025 - this important date also marks the exact date the Race Relations Act came into force 60 years ago.

 Every year, members from the TUC’s affiliated unions come together to debate what matters most to workers in protected equality groups.
From outsourcing to harassment at work, government policy to fair pay: what matters to you at work, and what can unions do to fix it?  Do you want to learn more about justice and inclusion and campaigning for equality at work?
GMB are now seeking applications for delegates/visitors to the 2025 TUC equality conferences, along with nominations for the TUC committees and encourage branches to submit motions. This is an exciting development opportunity for more members to learn about equality in our workplace and movements – and to build the diversity and strength of the union  There will be a special branch meeting on Wednesday, 21st August at 7.00pm in the Ex-Servicemens club, Lloyds Road, Corby, NN17 1AP to discuss nominations and motions to be put forward to National Equality Motions Conference in November 2019
This is a special meeting because: instead of regional equality conferences putting motions forward to a national equality conference there will be a national motions conference which will decide what motions go forward.  GMB MIDLAND AND EAST COAST will have a stall at Northampton Market on 12th October between the hours of 08:00 - 15:00.
Please pop down to see them and maybe help hand out some leaflets to passing residents so that they understand the current challenges that are facing Northamptonshire County Council.
