GMB Workplace Representative Neil held another recruitment day at ASDA Kettering on the 13/12/24 he held a Christmas recruitment day event in the ASDA canteen, where he had cakes and sweets available.
 GMB Workplace representative Neil held a Halloween themed recruitment day at Asda in Kettering on the 31st October 2024.
This included a "count the sweets in a jar" game for GMB members, and the winner received a Halloween hamper, second prize was the sweets in the jar.  On Monday 26th August our GMB Workplace representative Neil, held another recruitment day at Asda in Kettering in the canteen
 GMB Union had a demo at Asda Kettering on Monday 15th July 2024 in the morning. The demonstration was for Equal Pay and also the amount of hours that have been reduced in Asda Stores since the Issa Brothers and TDR Capital took over, which for Kettering is 11% of the stores employees have disappeared through cuts in hours.
The Equal Pay back pay owed in the Kettering Store is £3.8 Million in owed wages.  On the 3rd of July Neil Gardiner GMB Representative at ASDA in Kettering held another recruitment day with the theme being a combination of a picnic and bingo event.
Through the ASDA Kettering WhatsApp group the members decided they would like an Amazon gift card as the prize, So Neil did £1 a ball each. Also on the day Neil bought loads of cakes, fizzy drinks, and biscuits to go with the picnic theme.  On Wednesday the 12th June 2024 at GMB Union Congress, branch members joined the march and demo at ASDA in Bournemouth to protest against the asset stripping of the company by the owners and significant reduction in hours for workers.

This time they made an advent calendar, and bought 10 Easter eggs and hid the winning numbers in envelopes on the advent calendar.
 On the 15th of February, Lorraine and Neil, GMB Workplace Reps, did another recruitment day at Asda Kettering where they managed to get more members to join the GMB Union.
The event was called 'Valentines Squares' because Neil made up a grid chart of 50 squares and 3 prizes were hidden within them. One was a chocolate hamper, one a £15 Odeon cinema gift card, and lastly a meal gift card.  On the 22nd of December 2023 GMB Workplace Reps Neil and Lorraine held another recruitment day at Asda in Kettering and they put on a show as usual.
The day included a game called 'Guess the Name' of the penguin (a stuffed toy), where Neil & Lorraine created 100 names and GMB members got to pick a name for £1 a time, to give as a prize to the correct choice. On the day the total prize got to £50. A picture of the winner with Neil and the £50 gift card is below, with other pictures of the successful recruitment day too.  On Sunday the 29th October 2023 GMB Workplace Representatives held a recruitment day at Asda in Kettering.
The event had a Halloween theme with a raffle and competition and was organised by GMB Union Workplace Reps: Neil, Laura and Lorraine - who you can see in the pictures below. The event was a great success with more members signing up to join the GMB Union and also joining the GMB Union Asda Equal pay Claim. A great recruitment event and well done to Laura, Lorraine and Neil for organising - and what great Halloween costumes. |
