The government recently announced that it will not be bringing forward the state pension age this year.
This is positive news – but it does not go far enough. The issue has simply been kicked into the long grass, as the government plans to have a further review of the state pension age within two years of the next Parliament.
We must continue until we get a commitment from all major parties that they will not raise the state pension age in the next Parliament.
