Too often though the political process can seem distant from the realities in our workplaces and communities.

Course Title: Health & Safety Refresher Location: Regional Office, Nottingham Dates: 12th & 13th April 2022 This course gives GMB Safety Reps the opportunity to further develop existing skills and knowledge. Focussing on current workplace safety issues, it looks at how we employ a trade union organising approach in order to tackle these effectively. We also take a look at the importance of workplace inspections and revisit our safety reps rights as outlined in the Safety Representative and Safety Committee Regulations 1977. On Wednesday, 19 January the Prime Minister announced that the Government was ending England’s ‘Plan B’ measures. This included the lifting of the recommendation that face coverings be worn in secondary classrooms from Thursday, 20 January, and the rules requiring face coverings in communal areas in all schools from Thursday, 27 January. The event will include a number of keynote speakers, including GMB Northants Branch Secretary Alan Irwin and a live stream from the Holocaust Memorial Trust. The event is free to attend and tickets are limited due to COVID regulations. You can book your place on Eventbrite's website here This Basic IT Skills for Trade Unionists course is perfect for those who have little or no experience of using computers, but want to learn how to in a relaxed, friendly way.
