The Regional Equality Conference will take place on Thursday 15th October 2015, at the GMB Regional Office from 10:00am to 3:30pm.
This will be a delegate’s conference and on that basis branches are expected to send up to four delegates and submit two motions.
Please be mindful that the delegates ought to be representative of at least one of the equality strands: Gender, Disability, LGBT, Migrant Workers, Youth, Race and Retired Members, in order to maintain the GMB’s aim to maximise inclusion.
The motions that are submitted, if supported by the conference, will be considered for submission to the National Equality Conference which will take place in early March 2016 and therefore branches are asked to be conscious of the potential they have for raising issues that could be discussed and adopted at a national level.
On this basis branches are asked to ensure that the motions are within the remit of the equalities forum and ensure that they are sent to my office by no later than 18th September 2015.
