GMB Northants Community Branch are holding a special meeting on October 9th at 7.30pm in Northampton in the Working Men’s Club, 56 Sheep Street. Northampton NN1 2LZ
The main speaker at the meeting will be Richard Oliver, regional Political Officer for the GMB. He will be there to speak about the unions links with the labour party, how the political fund is used (it doesn’t all go to the labour party by any means) and how important it is that a labour government us returned at the next election. This will be followed by a discussion on the political objectives of the GMB and how best they can be achieved.
All branch members are welcome. Even if you aren’t particularly interested in politics it will be a chance to meet full time GMB officer David Shamma and other branch officers and find out how the branch is run.
I am always anxious to find out the views of members and with such a large branch as ours it is sometimes difficult.
I hope you are able to come. There will be a light buffet!
