Kate Spriggs, secretary at the Peterborough office, is retiring. She has been very helpful to the branch over the years. It was agreed that we should send her a voucher for chocolates.
The letter to new members has been sent out. We have 2589 members in January, down from 2603 in December.
The election for branch officers will take place in June. Nominations will be taken at the three previous meetings. The secretary is not standing again. He has contacted regional office and it was agreed that he should stay as secretary until the July meeting. This will coincide with the union accounting period and means that the incoming secretary will not have to deal with the any meetings until September.

Social Media: Website Activity has been lower this month. Social media activity was up slightly. The website has been updated.
Rachelle gave an update on what is happening with the new north and west unitary authorities. The north is going quite smoothly, with agreement on most issues. The negotiations with the west are being dominated by the same tory councillors who wrecked the county council so things aren’t looking quite so good there.
The region will be holding a celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8th. A link will go on the website.
With the voting for the new unitary authorities coming up on May 6th we should make sure that a many of our members as possible should be registering for a postal vote especially as there might be problems with polling stations given the present circumstances. A link and a letter from the secretary will go on the website.
