 Since WASPI's last petition, the Government accepted that 1950s-born women are victims of maladministration due its failure to notify us of State Pension ages increases.
However, ministers continue to say none of us suffered any injustice. We believe this is not only an outrage, but legally wrong. We will not allow the Government’s decision... Today, on the United Nations Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we reaffirm our collective commitment to eradicating racism—not only in our workplaces but throughout society. As trade unionists, we stand united in the fight for racial equity and justice. You may have heard in the news today that one of Stephen Lawrence’s murderers, currently serving a prison sentence, admitted at a Parole Board hearing to being at the scene and punching Stephen.  The February branch meeting of GMB Northants Community Branch (C51) took place on Thursday the 27th February 2025 at 7pm on Zoom. Below are the summary minutes of the meeting.  GMB Northants Branch elections for officers and committee are due to take place this year at the June 2025 branch meeting.
Branch officers are elected by each GMB branch and each branch will have a president, secretary, equality officer, youth officer and two auditors and a committee of no less than nine members. The president, secretary, equality officer, race officer and youth officer will all be members of the committee. (See rule 35.3)  GMB Midlands our branch's regional office, are running an Employment Law Course taking place at Nottingham on 1st and 15th May, 3rd and 26th June and in Halesowen on 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd May and 5th June.
 Derby Area TUC and The wider SMF Organising Group are again organising this important and historic Trade Union event, supported by The TUC, celebrating The struggle of The Silk Mill workers-locked out by their employers for non-acceptance of a pay cut and seeking better working conditions via Trades Union membership- sound familiar?
